Abstract :
Kurangnya perhatian kepada media untuk melestarikan cerita rakyat menjadi salah satu alasan kurangnya minat masyarakat NTB untuk melestarikan budaya tersebut. Banyak cerita rakyat di NTB yang harus segera diberikan media yang lebih modern sebagai upaya bersama untuk melestarikanya. Seperti contoh cerita Lagenda Putri Mandalika, cerita rakyat tersebut sudah mendapatkan adaptasi animasi, buku bergambar, dan situs baca diinternet. Putri Mandalika adalah bukti bahwa melestarikan budaya dengan aplikasi media modern dapat berdampak besar bagi eksistensi cerita Putri Mandalika. Di era modern ini mastyarakat bisa dengan mudah mengakses cerita rakyat Putri Mandalika hanya melalui ponsel saja. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya yang sama kepada cerita rakyat lainnya yang masih tersebar di daerah NTB ini salah satunya cerita rakyat yang berasal dari daerah Sumbawa yang berjudul Buen Lajenre. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan cerita rakyat Buen Lajenre kepada masyarakat NTB melalui media buku ilustrasi, diharapkan hasil dari penelitian ini bisa berdampak kepada cerita lainnya yang masih belum medapatkan kesempatan untuk diadaptasi ke media yang lebih modern. Metode yang digunakan dalam merancang buku ilustrasi ini adalah metode perancangan Design Thingking. Design Thingking adalah suatu metode untuk build product concept (membangun konsep produk) dan memiliki 5 tahapan yaitu Emphatize, Define, Ideate, Prototype dan Test. Kemudian pada tahap uji kelayakan buku, penulis memilih remaja/masyarakat NTB untuk menguji hasil dari buku ilustrasi ini. Lack of attention in the media to preserve folklore is one of the reasons why people in NTB have less interest to preserve this culture. Many folk tales in NTB must be given more modern media as a joint effort to preserve them. For example, the story of Putri Mandalika's Lagenda, the folklore has received animated adaptations, picture books, and reading sites on the internet. Putri Mandalika is proof that preserving culture with modern media applications can have a big impact on the existence of Putri Mandalika's story. In this modern era, people can easily access the folklore of Putri Mandalika Just use hand phone to know about Putri Mandalika. For this reason, the same effort is needed for other folk tales that are still scattered in the NTB area, one of which is a folk tale from the Sumbawa area entitled Buen Lajenre. The purpose of this design is to introduce the folklore of Buen Lajenre to the people of NTB through the media of illustration books, it is hoped that the results of this research can have an impact on other stories that have not yet had the opportunity to be adapted to more modern media. The method used in designing this illustration book is the Design Thinking method. Design Thinking is a method for building a product concept and has 5 stages, namely Emphatize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. Then at the book feasibility test stage, the author chose the youth/community of NTB to test the results of this illustrated book.
