Abstract :
Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kepercayaan diri mahasiswa rantau. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode expost facto. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 106 responden dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan populasi yang berada di daerah Aceh, Banten, Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Kalimantan Selatan, Kalimantan Timur, Kalimantan Utara, Kep. Bangka Belitung, Kep. Riau, Lampung, Maluku, NTB, Riau, Sulawesi Tenggara, Sumatera Barat, Sumatera Selatan, dan Sumatra Utara. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri dari alat ukur kecerdasan emosional yaitu emotional intelligence questionnaire EIQ16 oleh Mayer, Salovey & Caruso dan alat ukur kepercayaan diri oleh teori Lauster. Uji analsis statistik yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian ini adalah uji analasis regresi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan nilai F hitung = 23, 052 dan nilai ? = 0,00 < 0,05 (signifikan) yang berati terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap kepercayaan diri mahasiswa rantau. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai koefesien determinan (Adjusted R) = 0,174 artinya pengaruh kecerdasan emosional sebesar 17,4% terhadap kepercayaan diri mahasiswa rantau. Semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosional semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri mahasiswa rantau. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the confidence of overseas students. The research approach used is quantitative research with ex post facto method. The subjects of this study consisted of 106 respondents using purposive sampling techniques with populations in the areas of Aceh, Banten, Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Kep. Bangka Belitung, Kep. Riau, Lampung, Maluku, NTB, Riau, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sumatra, South Sumatra and North Sumatra. Data was collected using a questionnaire consisting of emotional intelligence measurement tools namely emotional intelligence questionnaire EIQ16 by Mayer, Salovey & Caruso and a measure of confidence by Lauster's theory. The statistical analysis test used to test the hypothesis of this study is the regression analysis test. The results of this study indicate the calculated F value = 23, 052 and the value of ? = 0.00 <0.05 (significant) which means there is a significant influence between emotional intelligence on the confidence of overseas students. The results showed the determinant coefficient (Adjusted R) = 0.174 means that the influence of emotional intelligence by 17.4% on the confidence of overseas students. The higher the emotional intelligence the higher the confidence of overseas students.
