Abstract :
This study is aimed to describe the process of developing animated English video learning from a textbook made by Kemendikbud ?When English Rings a Bell? for seven graders of junior high school in SMP Negeri 11 Kota Jambi. In this research, the learning videos are designed using the ADDIE model from Robert Maribe Branch. Data collection techniques used is observation, question form, and interview. Descriptive qualitative approach is used to analyse the data.
The development of the research conducted into four phases. First is analyse: 1) learning environment, 2) students? needs. The second phase is design: script and storyboard creation. The next phase is development: media creation and product revision. The result of the study showed that: 1) the developing animated videos are validated by material and media experts categorized as good and ready to be tested in the actual study, 2) the videos can be used for the teachers and students as a guide in the learning process in the class or outside the class.
