Abstract :
ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the value of genetic correlation and phenotype of body length with body weight and heritability value and breeding value based on the length of the male Brahman cow?s body in the BPTU-HPT Sembawa. The Brahman cows were analyzed as much as 331 child which from 3 mature male and 331 parent from 2013 until 2015. The data used include body weight and body length when born, weaning and one year old based birth records and the pedigree. The prediction of heritability values using analysis variant of unidirectional classification pattern with paternal half-Shib correlations method, the calculation of males breeding value using the Cummulative Difference (CD) method while the relationship between body length and body weight using covariance analysis of paternal half-Shib correlations. The result showed body length had positive correlation with body weight on born in genetically (rG = 0,970) and phenotyphositive correlated continued rP = 0,354, 0,318 dan 0,625, but no efective to prediction body weight because it had medium correlation value. Based on aged, breeding value of Brahman cows USA had the best excellence value on born and weaning (4,247 and 1,274) then decrease in rank on one year old. PM Ausi male had best breeding value than other male because the breeding value relative increase from body length on born until one year old. It showed breeding value of body length offspring is above the average population. The conclusion is body length had positive correlation with body weight. PM Ausi male more excellent because it velues up then other average male population.
