Abstract :
This study aims to analyze the open-ended approach to students' thinking abilities. This research used a meta-analysis method with a sample of 10 journal articles.The meta-analysis research shows that an open-ended approach to the thinking ability of students from the subject of education is more effectively used at the elementary and junior high school levels than at the high school level. Meanwhile, from the subject of the research year, an open-ended approach to students' thinking abilities, there are increases and decreases in the results of the effect size. But in 2018 there has been an increase, which means an open-ended approach to students 'thinking abilities has a high influence in 2018. And from the subject students' critical and creative thinking skills have the same high influence. But more influential on the ability to think critical.
