Abstract :
This term paper discusses about a literary work, a biography. The discussion is about the theme of a literary work by applying 2 approaches; intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach, the concepts are: characterization using showing and telling methods and setting. For the extrinsic approaches, there are The Concept of Revolution of Social Institution in German and also Jewish Community in The Era of Adolf Hitler. This term paper is variety of qualitative research, types of library research, interpretative analysis using method by collecting data in the form of literary texts from the biography book The Diary of Anne Frank as the primary source and is supported by some of the books, journals and literatures that relate to the theories, concepts and the relevant definition as the secondary sources. Keywords: Anne Frank, Biography, Setting, Characterization, Institution Skripsi ini membahas tema karya sastra yang berupa biografi. Masalah yang akan dianalisis adalah konsep dari cerminan teori kebutuhan bertingkat di dalam kehidupan dengan menggunakan pendekatan intrinsik dan ekstrinsik Dalam pendekatan intrinsik, terdapat konsep-konsep: Karakterisasi melalui metode langsung dan tidak langsung dan latar untuk pendekatan ekstrinsik terdapat konsep Revolusi institusi di Jerman dan Perkumpulan Agama Yahudi di Era Adolf Hitler. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian ragam kualitatif, jenis penelitian kepustakaan, sifatnya interpretative analisis dengan metode penggumpulan data berupa teks karya sastra dari buku biografi yang berjudul The Dairy of Anne Frnak sebagai sumber utama dan didukung oleh beberapa buku, jurnal, dan karya sastra yang terkait dengan teori, konsep dan definisi yang sesuai sebagai sumber sekunder.
