Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to determine language learning needs
English students majoring in accounting at SMK Negeri 1 Ampana Kota, incl
target needs and learning needs. This research uses
qualitative descriptive method, by distributing questionnaires to 32 students
class XI Accounting 1, interviewed the teacher and interviewed two students.
This research uses the theory of Macalister and Nation, (2010). Findings from
This research is about the needs of students majoring in accounting, namely students need
general English material, difficulties faced by students majoring in accounting
in mastering English is that they don't have friends who can
invited to communicate in English, and the wishes of majoring students
accounting in English learning is what they want to master
speaking skills in English. Then, supported by roles
teachers in increasing students' learning needs are looking for material on
books or the internet for additional material, if in the book provided
school is not yet complete. Next, the role of students in improving
English language skills mean students don't just rely on the material
has been given at school, but students can also study outside school hours
by utilizing technology in the form of cellphones or laptops, with
learning concepts that each student is interested in.
