Abstract :
This research purpose is to find out the students' speaking ability in describing picture in seventh grade students at SMP Satu Atap Toyado.The subject of the research is seventh grade students at SMP Satu Atap Toyado, which amounted is 18 students. The method of the research is descriptive qualitative method in explaining the results of research from teaching and learning process using the pictures. The finding of the research is obtained that: (1) in teaching English speaking by describing the picture in three times; first meeting the teacher's explains how the assessment in describing the pictures and the teacher teaches the material about simple present tense. At the end of the meeting, the teacher share the different pictures to all students. The second and third meeting is the teacher begin to assess the students. (2) Students are very enthusiastic in describing picture and they can describe the picture.
