Abstract :
This research aims to find out the needs of Agrotechnology students in learning English academic year 2019/2020. The sample in this research was the second-semester Agrotechnology students, amounting to 30 people. This type of research is qualitative. And it uses questionnaires, interviews and documentation to collect data. Questionnaires were distributed to students and interviews were conducted with lecturers who taught Basic English II.
After analysis the data, the researcher found that the needs of Agrotechnology students in the target needs (necessities) is the students needs to required their speaking skills, communication globally and they also need to improve their ability to use language and vocabulary. In the target needs (wants), Agrotechnology students want to learn about daily problems in the classroom and they are interested in using role playing (Role Plays) for class activities. When the lecturer give an assignments they want to be in pair or small groups. While the target needs lack (Lacks) of Agrotechnology students have difficulty in understanding the English texts and they want lecturer to give more explanation about material that is difficult for them.
