Abstract :
In the era of the dynamic business development, business parties use various ways to be able to develop and increase the value of the company. One method to do is with business combination in the form of mergers and acquisitions. Merger is a merger of two or more entities into one entity. The development company that merged in Indonesia from year to year has increased. The merger is expected to enhance shareholder value and the financial performance of a company. But in Indonesia there are several companies that experienced a decline in its financial performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development of the company merged in Indonesia who succeeded and failed. Based on some previous research that discusses the key to successful and failure company mergers, emerging framework that will be the basis for a discussion on chapter IV there are some indicator for the success and failure of company merger as the basic framework of this study. By using the approach of qualitative research methods and data analysis techniques Miles and Huberman, data analysis technique divided into three stages, the data reduction, data display, and conclusion. This study will discuss the factor that caused a company merger succeeded and failed. PT Bakrie Telecom, PT Semen Indonesia, PT Bank BRI Agro and PT Matahari Department Store is the company that will be analyzed in this study.
