Abstract :
Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network(VANET) is a type of wireless communication technology applied to transportation which is expected to help the security for the driver and concerns about congestion or accidents are common in big cities. In this study, the authors tested the performance of AODV Routing Protocols in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network using Cluster Approach. QoS testing metrics used are Packet Delivery Ratio, Delay and throughput by using two types of maps that grid map and the map of Palembang. The simulation results in this study show that the use of cluster approach in each scenario obtain better results than those not using the Cluster approach. The average value of the Packet Delivery Ratio at a speed of 40 km/h to map grid using Cluster approach by 88.05% and a speed of 60 km/h 85.55% for the map of Palembang value by an average of 90.36%. The average value of delay with a speed of 40 km/h to map grid using Cluster approach of 0.14 ms and a speed of 60 km/h in 0.10 ms to map Palembang average value of 0.054 ms. The average value of throughput at a speed of 40 km/h to map grid using Cluster approach amounted to 1,885 bps and a speed of 60 km/h 1,441 bps to map Palembang average value of 23.77 bps.
