The Role of Health Cadres in Organizing Posyandu Activity in Working Area of Empat Lawang District in 2018
ABSTRACT
Empat Lawang district is one of the regions that has the most active posyandu compared to other regions in South Sumatera, namely 178 posyandu in 2017 have reached 100% of active posyandu. The aim of this study is to analyze the role of health cadres in the implementation of posyandu activity in the working area of Empat Lawang district. This research is a quantitative research using a cross sectional study. The sample of this study is the health cadres of posyandu which total 80 respondents taken by cluster random sampling technique. The questionnaire is used in collecting the data in this research with the general guidelines of posyandu from the ministry of health 2011. Statistical tests were carried out by normality testing, univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results showed that 61.3% of posyandu cadres had an active role in the implementation of posyandu activities, while the results of the bivariate test showed that there was one variable that had a significant relationship with the role of cadres namely education variables (p-value <0.05) and no relationship between the dependent variable (the role of cadres) with the independent variables (age, occupation and working period / length of time being a cadre) in the implementation of posyandu activities in the working area of Empat Lawang district in 2018 (p-value> 0.05). Health Officers are expected to require cadres to attend during cadre training to improve cadre abilities and the role of cadres in posyandu activities.
