Abstract :
Welding workshop CV. Rascar Auto Sport provides welding services for items such
as car accessories, fences, and other equipment that requires welding. The interviews
showed that many workers did things that were dangerous, and there were accidents
at work like cut hands, irritated and stinging eyes from dust fumes, and iron splinters
that got stuck in the eyeballs. These issues necessitate an examination of unsafe
actions among welding workshop workers. Rascar Auto Sport is focused on the
Behavior Based Safety methodology, which focuses on employee behavior. A mixed
method was used in this study, with quantitative data collected using a checklist sheet
while observing 22 welding workers and qualitative data collected through in-depth
interviews. The primary informants in this study were the welding shop's owner, a
general Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) expert, and four welding workers.
The rating on the checklist sheet was -0.37, which meant that the body protection
equipment was not safe. Although the other three variables are safe, the element of
unsafe acts is worth 0.21, the factor of working position is worth 0.60, and the factor
of utilizing equipment while working is worth 0.35. Top management isn't doing
enough. There aren't enough OHS policies and procedures, there isn't enough
communication about OHS, and workers' OHS skills aren't based on their actions.
However, employees are performing sufficiently. The proposed recommendations
include completing the provision of OHS equipment, providing direct supervision and
warnings to workers who engage in unsafe behavior, and developing documented
OHS norms and procedures.
