Abstract :
Radiation protection aprons work well to cut down on X-ray radiation dose rates, but they have a lot of problems that can hurt the body's musculoskeletal system, especially the way the spine is positioned. The purpose of this study is to obtain a composite sample of radiation protection apron material made from lead (II) acetate and Opuntia Ficus Indica cactus fiber that can absorb X-ray radiation optimally and is comfortable to use. Opuntia Ficus Indica cactus fiber mesh 80 and lead (II) acetate were synthesized with variations of 20%, 33%, 50%, 67%, and 80% resulting in an average thickness of about 0.74 cm - 0.36 cm tested using a general radiographic x-ray and Unfors RaySafe XI radiation measuring instrument with 80 kVp energy, 50 mA current, and the distance between the X- ray tube and the detector as far as 100 cm. The results showed that the most optimal sample composition was found in the 80% lead (II) acetate concentration sample with HVL 0.18 cm, attenuation coefficient 3.85 cm-1, and RAR 84%, as well as a density of 1.43 g/cm3, IB 0.72 MPa and also a maximum force load of 1.180N and 0.198 cm thick equivalence that is closest to achieving the density of lead apron with 0.25 mm thick diagnostic radiological radiation protection apron, in order to comply with X-ray radiation protection apron standards in accordance with the provisions of BAPETEN Regulation No. 8 of 2011 with good enough load resistance according to the requirements of the tensile test of the form of clothing in SNI 1294-2009
