Abstract :
The purpose of this study were to (1) Analyze the factors that influence farmers to convert coffee into corn in Gunung Cahya Village, Buay Rawan district, Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency, (2) Calculate the difference in income of farmers who convert and do not convert in Gunung Cahya Village, Buay Rawan district, Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency, (3) Describe the, and environment for farmers in Gunung Cahya Village, Buay Rawan district, south Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. This research was conducted in October 2022 in Gunung Cahya Village, South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency where the selection of the research location was carried out deliberately with the consideration that the area is one of the coffee producing areas but at this time there are several coffee farmers who choose to convert their farms into corn farms. The research method used in this study was a survey method. Then for the sample collecting method used is a proportional stratified random sampling. The results of this study are the first factor that significantly affect the decision of farmers in converting Farms is the factor of coffee productivity and the number of dependents while the production cost, coffee selling price, pest attacks, and the level of Education did not significantly affect. The second is the income earned by non-conversion farmers (coffee) is Rp7.356.097,92 per hectare per year while the income of farmers conversion (corn) is Rp10,112,589.58 per hectare per year so it is known that the difference in income between the two amounted to Rp2.756.491,67 per hectare per year. And the third is the conversion of farming that occurs has a positive impact on social and economic aspects. But on the contrary, the conversion of farming that occurs actually has a negative impact on environmental aspects.
