Abstract :
This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the learning modeldiscovery learning on the critical thinking skills of students in learning PPKn class VIII at SMP Pramula Palembang. This study uses a quantitative approach to the methodquasi experimental design. The population in this study amounted to 52 students. This sampling technique uses the techniquepurposive sampling with class VIII.1 and VIII.2 samples. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation, observation and tests. The research results can be seen from the test resultsn-gain score experimental class with a result of 0.55 in the medium category which means there is influence from the application of the learning modeldiscovery learning on students' critical thinking skills. t test resultsindependent sample t-test with a result of 0.000 <0.05 then Ha is accepted, Ho is rejected. Based on the results it can be concluded that there is an influence on the implementation of the learning modeldiscovery learning on the critical thinking skills of students in learning PPKn class VIII at SMP Pramula Palembang.
