Abstract :
This study examines "Social Motives of Child Marriage in Muara Lakitan Village, Muara Lakitan District, Musi Rawas Regency". The problem in this study is to discuss the motives that cause child marriage and the motives for individual goals to marry at a young age. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The theory used is the phenomenology of Alferd Schutz in looking at the social motives of child marriage in Muara Lakitan Village, Muara Lakitan District, Musi Rawas Regency. The results of this study indicate that the motives that cause individuals to engage in child marriage are: 1.) Tohon Tradition, 2.) Parental Arrangements, 3.) Free association through youth contests, 4.) Low Economy, 5. ) Married By Accident/Pregnant marriage. 6.) There is no socialization of child marriage. And the motives for individual goals for child marriage are: 1.) Living independently, 2.) Having children, 3.) The desire to live together, 4.) Avoiding adultery and free sex, 5.) Having a business with a partner. Keywords: Because motive, In order to motive of child marriage
