Abstract :
Administratively, the research location is in Muara Paiti, Kapur Sembilan District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Geologically, the research area is included in the Central Sumatra Basin, namely in the Kuantan Formation, Menggala Formation, and Telisa Formation. The geomorphological conditions of the study area consist of denudational lands (DD), denudational hills (PD) and river canals (KS), has a pattern of dendritic, parallel and radial river flow. The stratigraphy of the study area is divided into three rock units from the oldest to the young, namely the pre-tertiary wacke sandstone unit of the Kuantan Formation, the sandstone unit of the Menggala Formation which is interpreted deposited in the braid flow environment formed in the early miocene. The shalestone units from the Telisa Formation formed in the Early Miocene to the Middle Miocene with a mid-to-medium-neritic deposition environment. The geological structure identified in the study area is a horizontal fault with a trend northwest-southeast and fold, namely a Paiti Syncline that is relatively northwest - southeast with the main direction relatively southwest - northeast. In the study area, syncline formed in the last phase, the fourth phase causes compressional force As a whole, Muara Paiti Syncline is seen from its geometry having an upright and horizontal shape. The results of the western Muara Paiti Synchronous Restoration analysis showed a deformation rate of 0.025 mm / year. This resulted in shortening of 0.32 km (8%). Then the eastern Muara Paiti syncline from the reconstruction of the restoration showed a shortening of the rock body by 1.45 km (10%) and the deformation rate of 0.11 mm / year.
