Abstract :
This researched intends to determine the impact of volcanic ash and manure against pH, C-Organic and available P on Ultisol Soil. As well as its effect on the growth of red chili pepper (Capsicum annum L.). This research was carried out in Greenhouse of Soil Science Department of agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatera in February 2017 until June 2017. Research used Complete Randomized Design (CDR) factorized with two treatment factors which is Volcanic Ash and Cow Manure. -the treatment was repeated three times to obtain 27 experimental units. The doses of volcanic ash and cow dung manure tested were 0 ton / Ha, 10 ton / ha, 20 ton / ha, respectively. The parameters observed included the initial characteristics of Ultisol Soil, volcanic ash, and the initial characteristics of cow dung manure. The results showed that the single treatment of volcanic ash had no significant effect on C-Organic, pH, P-available but had significant effect on plant height, and number of leaves. The sole treatment of cow dung manifest has significant effect on C-Organic, high pH of plant and number of leaves, but has no significant effect on P-available. Infact, the interaction between volcanic ash and cow manure treatment had no significant effect on all observed variables.
