Abstract :
The objectives of this research are: (1) to analyze the influence of the increase in the price of broiler chicken eggs in the Indralaya traditional market; (2) analyze the factors that influence the demand for broiler chicken eggs at the Indralaya traditional market; (3) analyze the elasticity of demand for broiler chicken eggs. This research was conducted during the period January-November 2023 with 60 housewife consumer respondents. The method used in this research is interview and observation methods using questionnaires. Data processing uses Excel and SPSS version 25 applications. The results of this research show (1) Even though the price of eggs has risen, consumers continue to buy eggs with several considerations; (2) The factors that have a real influence on the demand for broiler chicken eggs in the traditional Indralaya market are monthly family income, while the price of eggs, the price of tempeh, the price of tofu, the price of chicken meat, the number of family members, age, holiday and weekday dummies have no effect. significantly; (3) The effect of an increase in the price of broiler chicken eggs has a demand elasticity of -0.383, meaning that demand for chicken eggs is inelastic to price changes.
