Abstract :
This study aimed to determine the effect of the panel tapping system that is
the best for the production of rubber plants (Hevea brassiliensis Muell. Arg.) The research began from October 2018 to March 2019 at the rubber research field, and plant physiology laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, OganIlir,South Sumatra. The plants used in this study were rubber plants planted in 2011 and are now approximately 8 years old. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 tapping panel treatments that were repeated7 times, which sum up to 21 sampled plants. The treatment consists of P1: bottom tapping panel, P2: top tapping panel, P3: top and bottom tapping panel alternated, Tapping with a length of 1/2 S slices is done once in two days (d2). Based on the results, the panel tapping system was not significant to the weight of wet latex, latex dry weight, dry rubber content (DRC) and latex flow rate (LFR),
although the tabulation of results shows that from all the treatments, the best production was found at the upper panel tapping system.
