Abstract :
The objective of the research was to determine of sediments thickness in lowland wetland area using physical model. The experiment was conducted in the District of Irrigation Ogan Keramasan Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra from March until June 2016. The research was compiled by physical model in lowland wetland area and the method had been used in this research was descriptive method using direct observation in the field and the results was analyzed and presented using tabulation and graphs with six treatments of different high tide and low tide and three replications for each treatment. The observed parameters were physical model testing, relationship of tide and water discharge as well as relationship of water discharge and sediment thickness. The results showed that treatment of flooding period of tidal had influenced on sediment thickness. The physical model of sediments thickness estimation can be used to predict sediment thickness in lowland wetland area. The sediment thickness was affected by high and low tide periods as well input and output of water discharge. The shorter the high tide period and the longer the low tide period result in thicker sediment magnitude. Treatment F (input water discharge 6.66 liters / min and ouput water discharge of 2.66 liters / min) was the treatment with the largest sediment thickness with flooding period of 17 hours and 18 hours.
