Abstract :
The Banyuasin River Estuary is an estuarine region on the coast of South Sumatra that has high economic value for the local government. Whereas tidal influence the estuariyThe hydrodynamic model simulation was carried out using MIKE 21 for a period of 16 days. The results obtained are that the current distribution pattern that occuring in the Banyuasin River Estuary is limited by the channel geometry where the total current is dominantly affected by tidal currents compared to the residual current. Spatially, the distribution of current vectors is directly proportional to the depth of the river, with the deeper the region's bathymetry, the faster the flow of the current. The results of the co-range map of each component had a range of values K1 (0.612 m - 0.644 m), O1 (0.575 m - 0.615 m), M2 (0.19 m - 0.27 m), and S2 (0.072 m - 0.104 m). The results of the co-phase map showed that each component of K1, O1, M2 and S2 had a different rise and propagation time range from the Bangka Strait to the two upper reaches of the river. In general, the propagate time was longer to the upper reaches of the Lalan River than the Banyuasin River. The value of the Formzahl numbers was 4.184, which means that the tide type of the Banyuasin River Estuary was Diurnal.
