Abstract :
The Availability of electrical energy sources have become a problem, it is important to make a research, development, and renewal to find effective and efficiency sources. The Musi River estuary has variations of salinity grade with potentially difference potential has electrical energy. Research was held in March 2019 in Oceanography and Instrumentation Laboratory, Study Program Marine Science Mathematics and Science Faculty Sriwijaya University. Potential of electrical source in high salinity sea water is higher than low salinity sea water based on measurement data done for 3 days or 72 hours research. Maximum average grade of voltage and electric current is higher on single sea water cell of high salinity sea water with the voltage 906.7 mV and electric current 0.14 mA furthermore voltage 880 mV and electric current 0.09 mA on low salinity sea water. Maximum average grade of voltage and electric current of combined circuit sea water cells that connect to red lamp 1.5 volt LED is higher in high salinity sea water which have voltage on 1793 mV and electric current same as single sea water cell circuit is 0.14 mA, while voltage grade of low salinity sea water is 1750 mV and electric current is 0.09 mA. The difference that are not too significant cause by salinity grade among two samples not too so far which is around 17 ppt on high salinity sea water sample and salinity grade is 5 ppt on low salinity sea water sample.
