Abstract :
Research has been carried out on 15 years old oil palm Marihat Variety on Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatera, from April 2019 until October 2019. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) arranged with two factors were oil palm prunning system factor and NPK 15-15-15 compound fertilizer dosage. The oil palm prunning system (S) consists of 3 levels, namely: S0 = without prunning; S1 = prop 1 prunning system; S2 = prop 2 prunning system. The dosage of NPK fertilizer (N) consists of 5 levels, namely N0 = 0kg.plant-1; N1 = 2kg.plant-1; N2 = 3kg.plant-1; N3 = 4kg.plant-1; N4 = 5kg.plant-1. There were 15 treatment combinations, each treatment was replicated three times. The results showed there was an interaction between the prunning system and NPK fertilizer for the water content of palm oil leaf. A prunning system that decreased male flowers , spear leaf, also decreased abortion fruit bunches, and capable of repairing a frond fracture by 20%. NPK fertilizer increased leaf water content, leaf greenness, number of female flower, and number of fruit bunch. Prunning prop 2 with 4 kg.plant-1 NPK 15-15-15 compound fertilizied were able to maintance the growth and yield and decreased the frond during dry in dry land. Increasing NPK 15-15-15 compound fertilizer up to of 5kg.plant-1 is less effective in reducing frond fracture. Keywords: Oil palm, Prunning system, NPK fertilizer, frond fracture, fruit bunch
