Abstract :
the clan has two main roles, namely as a giver of information and as a means of forming public opinion. Targeted (effective) advertising can be used by STIKes Muhammadiyah Palembang to influence people's perceptions and preferences towards STIKes Muhammadiyah Palembang. This is the importance of understanding to know how the process of creating effective advertising. The research method used is a qualitative research method by conducting in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. This research also uses descriptive analysis where reliable information will be collected obtained from the object under study in detail and know the research problem clearly. The results of this study indicate that in the process of making a new student admission advertisement is good. The stages used are also in accordance with Terench A. Shimp; extension of the marketing strategy, the inclusion of consumer perspectives, advertising is persuasive, there is innovation, the content of the ad is as it is and also not excessive in delivering advertising messages.
