Abstract :
BIM is a technology in the construction industry that is experiencing development. However, the development of BIM in Indonesia is still not strong. One of the inhibiting factors in the development of BIM is the inadequate availability of BIM specialists and professionals in the construction industry so that an active role of students is needed as the main target in meeting the needs of the construction industry in Indonesia. This research was conducted to analyze the perceptions of students of the Sriwijaya University class of 2017, 2018 and 2019 civil engineering and architecture study programs regarding perceptions of knowledge, benefits, adoption and development of BIM. This study uses a quantitative approach. Data collection was carried out through the results of a questionnaire in the form of a google form. Analysis of the results of the questionnaire conducted in the form of instrument tests, calculation of the percentage of respondents' answers, data trends and calculation of the mean value and data ranking. According to respondents' perceptions, the benefits of BIM that most influence the construction industry are improving the quality of construction in Indonesia and making design visualization more focused. The driving factor that most influences the development and adoption of BIM is the training to learn BIM software. The inhibiting factors that most influence the development and adoption of BIM are lack of education or training on the use of BIM and lack of knowledge on how to implement BIM software.
