Abstract :
Stunting is a condition where children under five are failure to thrive in as a result of chronic malnutrition, so many children are shorter for their age. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of stunting in children under five in the working area of the Pemulutan Health Center, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional or cross-sectional study design. The study was conducted in the Pemulutan Health Center Work Area, Ogan Ilir Regency in March 2021-April 2021. The respondents were children under five (aged 24-59 months) totaling 118 people who were taken using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected by means of interviews, field observations and urine sampling. The measurement of nutritional status was carried out based on TB/U. The results showed that the proportion of respondents who were stunted was 45.8% and those who had normal nutritional status were 54.2%. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between access to clean water (p value = 0.002), access to latrines (p value = 0.005), Washing Hands with Soap (P value = 0.041), behavior at home (p value = 0,041), smoking behavior in the house (p value = 0.002 ), and Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) (p value = 0.004) to the incidence of stunting. In conclusion, the most dominant factor influencing the incidence of stunting is access to clean water. The Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) should continue to expand the clean water distribution network, in addition if the community wants to use river water as raw water for clean water, it must be processed first, for example by filtration, but it must be ensured that there is no the content of harmful chemicals in the water
