Abstract :
Currently, the population of South Sumatra Province continues to increase, causing an increase in population which can cause problems in urban areas such as housing and traffic congestion as well as rampant urbanization (Suseno, 2018). With this condition, it is necessary to develop sustainable transportation that can reduce environmental damage (Pandeiroth, 2019). Currently, in Palembang City, sustainable transportation such as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) have begun to be developed. The results obtained are the characteristics of public transport passenger trips in the city of Palembang based on the origin and destination of the trip, the public transportation model that has been developed by Joni Arliansyah et al using the origin and destination data of passengers in 2020 is sufficient to describe the existing conditions and the existing conditions of public transportation. The city of Palembang is developing and the LRT mode is already widely used.
