Abstract :
This research aims to find out whether or not there is an influence of audio visual media toward eleventh grade student's writing biographical ability in SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. The method used in this research is quasi experiment method. The population in this research is the total number of elevent grade students in SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. The sample of this research are the students at XI IIS 1 class as the experimental group contained 27 students and student at XI US 2 class as the control group contained 27 students. SPSS 22 program is used in this research as the technique of analyzing data with 95% (a=0,05) significant The result of the research shows that there is an influence of audio visual media toward students writing biographical text ability on the experimental group class with the value of pre-test is 60.81 and the post-test is 76.11. Besides, on the control group class, the value of pre-test is 59.44 and the post-test is 67 .04. The result of analyzis by t-test shows that t>tiable = 6.807 > 2.007 with of52 at 95% (a=0.05) level significant. The ttest result can be concluded that there is a significant different between experimental group and control group. Ha, " there is a different ability of writing biographical text between students who have taught by using audio visual media with students who have taught by using printed-base media (?1 t- ?2) accepted. Accordingly, it can be concluded that audio visual media has an influence toward the eleventh grade student's writing biographical text ability in SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang.
