Abstract :
ABSTRACT Siti Meydhianty A.s Pawata (A 121 14 054). The Effect of Bubble Diagram on Writing Skill of Grade Eight of SMP Negeri Model terpadu Madani Palu, Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and Art Education, English Language Education Study Program under the supervision of Sriati Usman and Aminah. The objective of this research is to find out whether Bubble Diagram Technique is effective to improve students’ writing skill of the grade eight of SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu. This research used a quasi-experimental research design which involved experimental and control groups.The research samples were VIII KI Hajar Dewantara as the experimental group with 23 students and group VIII WS Rendra as the control group with 23 students selected by using cluster random sampling technique. The data of the research were collected through pre-test and post-test. The treatment was given only to experimental group. The data were analyzed statistically in order to find out the significant difference of students’ achievement in pre-test and post-test. The mean score of experimental group on pre-test is 37.32. while that of the control one is 43.84. The mean score of experimental group on post-test is 63.41. while that of the control one is 53.26. By using the 0.05 level of significance and 44 degree of freedom, it was discovered that the value of the t-counted (5.33) is the higher than the t-table (1.68). It means that the hypothesis is accepted. In other words, using Bubble Diagram Technique can improve writing descriptive text of the grade eight students of SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu.
