Abstract :
The aims of this study are to describe realization of learning by
realrealistic approach in mathematics learning and to determine do there is an
effect of realistic learning to mathematics learning achievement of junior high
school students or no. The sample of this study is the students of class VII at
SMPN 1 Kupang who consists of 25 students.
The data used in this research were marks of pretest and posttest data from
the experimental class by realistic learning. The data obtained will be analyzed
with SSPS versian 22.0.Before hypothesis testted, prerequisite test is done as
normality for pretest and posttest data. From the analyzed of pretest data was
obtained Asymp.Sig.2-tailed value = 0.200 > 0.05 and Dcalculated = 0.134 < Dtabel
= 0.264 so H0 accepted, and concluded that the data is normally distributed.
While the posttest data obtained Asymp.Sig.2-tailed value = 0.064 > 0.05 and
Dcalculated = 0.169 < Dtabel = 0.264 so H0 accepted, and concluded that the data is
normally distributed.
Hypothesis test using paired sample test, after the data analyzed. It were
obtained value Sig.2.-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05 and tcalculated = 12.664 > ttabel = 2.064
then reject H0, so concluded that there is a significant effect on realistic learning
approach on mathematics learning achievement at junior high school students.
The result of this study showed that realistic learning approach has effects
to mathematics learning achievement. Therefore, the authors suggest to
teachers,so they can use realistic learning approach in classroom learning
accordance with the material to be taught.
