Abstract :
Labor complications are a close determinant of maternal mortality. Almost 90% of maternal deaths occur during delivery and immediately after delivery. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of labor complications at Fatmawati Hospital, South Jakarta City in 2020. Method that used in this research is an analytic observational method with a case control study design. This study used secondary data in the form of maternal medical records at Fatmawati Hospital. The population in this study were all mothers who gave birth at Fatmawati General Hospital in January - November 2020 with the sampling technique is purposive sampling. The number of samples in this study were 51 cases and 51 controls. Bivariate analysis with chi square test and multivariate analysis with multiple logistic regression tests. The variables of this study were divided into reproductive status (age, parity, pregnancy distance), health status (pregnancy complications, history of obstetric complications, history of chronic disease and infection), and behavior toward health services (antenatal care visits or ANC). The result of multivariat analysis show that factors associated with the incidence of labor complications were pregnancy distance (OR = 9,61; 95%CI: 2,46 – 37,47), pregnancy complications (OR = 55,18; 95%CI: 5,82 – 523,23), and a history of chronic disease and infection (OR = 45,34; 95%CI: 4,38 – 469,07). It is recommended that women and pregnant women be able to prevent labor complications by avoiding 4T and 3T.
