Abstract :
Sugar Sweetened Beverages (SSBs) are beverages that are sweetened with added sugars. Based on the Riskesdas in 2019, consumption of sweet drinks ≥ 1 time/day at the age of 20-24 years (56.43%). College student always follow the things that
are trending, including the trendy drinks.This study aimed to determine the factors associated with sugar sweetened beverages behavior among UPN Veteran Jakarta students. This study is a quantitative study with cross-sectional design. The
population in this study was UPN Veteran Jakarta students. The sample used in this study was 386 stundents taken by proportionate random sampling method. The data were collected with online questionnaire via Google Form. The result showed that 51% of UPN Veteran Jakarta students consumed sugar sweetened beverages in the high category. There was a significant relationship between gender (p=0,006), lack of knowledge (p=0,043), attitude (p=0,016), and access (p=0,025) with sugar sweetened beverages consumption behavior. Suggestion for UPN Veteran Jakarta students to reduce their consumption of SSBs and the university can provide education about SSBs with posters in the campus canteen.
