Abstract :
Construction activities are one of the activities that have a high risk. Section 1 of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train Project is one of the construction activities in PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between workers’ age, years of service, education, knowledge, attitudes, physical workload, and mental workload to work accidents. This research used quantitative analytic method with cross sectional study design. The population of this study were 126 workers and the sample was 96 workers by using simple random sampling technique. Chi Square test results obtained p-value for age and accidents = 0.001; p-value for workers’ years of service and accidents = 0.111; p-value for education and accidents = 0.003; p-value for knowledge and accidents = 0.000; p-value for attitude and accidents = 0.001; p-value of physical workload and accidents = 0.000; and p-value for mental workload and accidents = 0.000. The conclusion, there is associations between age, education, knowledge, attitude, physical workload, and mental workload with work accidents. Suggestion, workers are expected to comply with OHS policies. Company is expected to provide facilities for workers. Suggestion for the future study is to examine other factors associated with other work accidents.
