Abstract :
This study aims to determine how students' attitudes in learning English in the eighth grade. This study uses a qualitative approach. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of SMP N 6 Tambusai. The sample of this study was 28 students. Data collection techniques using observation and questionnaires. First, the researcher observed students who were studying in class. Second, the researcher gave a questionnaire to the students and then the students filled out the questionnaire that had been given. The results showed that students' attitudes in the learning process were good. All indicators of student attitudes are well met. The researcher found that the average score of the student questionnaire was 56 and could be classified as a Good Attitude. Then based on the results of the percentage of students' attitudes in the learning process in the good category 19 students (68%), in the fair category 9 students (32%). That is, the attitude of students in learning English in the eighth grade gets a good attitude. This study is expected to provide information about student attitudes in learning at SMP N 6 Tambusai.
