Abstract :
One of the fruits whose juice can function as an antibacterial is lemon.
This is related to the flavonoid content in lemons. The purpose of this study was
to determine the total flavonoid content in local and imported L Osbeck lemon
(Citrus limon) juice using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. The filtered
juice was used for qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Qualitative
analysis with concentrated HCI reagent plus magnesium powder, 10% NaOH, and
concentrated H2SO4 with the result that lemon juice is positive for flavonoids.
Quantitative analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with operating time at 28
minutes, maximum wavelength of 439 nm. Total flavonoid content in local lemon
juice was 38.419 ± 0.4449 mg QE/100 ml of juice, the % coefficient of variation
obtained was 0.55%. The total flavonoid content in imported lemon juice is
39.989 ± 0.1991 mg QE/100 ml of juice and the coefficient of variation is 0.60%.
