Abstract :
Sleep has an important role in maintaining human physical and mental health. The habit of staying
up late, especially among students, can disrupt sleep patterns and result in negative impacts. This
research describes the results of a questionnaire which shows that 31 IT Telkom Purwokerto
students have the habit of staying up late, especially to complete assignments, resulting in a lack
of rest time and an impact on physical and mental health. Academic stress factors can also disrupt
circadian rhythms, affecting various body functions. Awareness of the dangers of staying up late
needs to be increased, especially through public service advertisements. A case study involving a
medical student who suffered a stroke as a result of staying up late highlights the serious risks of
this habit. Interviews with doctors confirmed that staying up late can disrupt sleep patterns, affect
body organs, and potentially cause health problems such as high blood pressure and obesity. This
research designed a public service advertisement video using motion graphic techniques to convey
the message visually and interestingly. By paying attention to survey results which show the
public's interest in motion graphics, this video aims to increase awareness of IT Telkom
Purwokerto students regarding the negative impacts of staying up late and encourage behavioral
changes towards adequate and quality sleep.
