Abstract :
This study aims to find out two problems, namely: First, analyzing the role of
the younger generation in the development of the home industry in the era of
digital economy in Pilang Village, Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo Regency. Second,
analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors of the younger generation in home
industry development in the era of digital economy in Pilang Village, Wonoayu
Distict, Sidoarjo Regency. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. This
study took a sample of the younger generation of owners home industry based on
digital economy in Pilang Village, Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo Regency. The data
collection techniques used are: by making observations, interviews, and
documentation. Analysis techniques Data uses data collection, data reduction, and
inference.
The results of this study show that first, the role of the younger generation in
the development of home industry in the era of digital economy in Pilang Village
Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo Regency, namely establishing a product business
crackers, established a pentol frozen food business, established a bag product
business, established a pastry product business, established catering business,
established a wet cake product business, established various frozen food,
established peyek chips business, established las HD Jaya, handicrafts photo
carving, and set up a lathe workshop. Second, the factor supporting the young
generation in the Development of home industry in the era digital economy in
Pilang Village, Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo Regency, namely: adequate equipment,
selection of quality raw materials, product development, use of social media
(Whatsapp, Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram). While the inhibiting factor of the
younger generation in home industry development in the era of digital economy in
Pilang Village Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo Regency, is a difficult raw material in
can, unstable raw material prices due to ups and downs, where lack of
extensiveness, strong competition, weather factor, time factor, and carelessness at
work.
