Abstract :
This study aims to determine how the application of the Discovery Learning
learning model to improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts in
elementary schools. The research method used is a literature review. This research
was conducted by collecting data sources obtained from scientific articles in which
the variables raised were Discovery Learning, concept understanding, and
elementary school students. The search for scientific articles is adjusted to the
inclusion criteria that have been determined. Based on the results of the analysis of
6 scientific articles obtained, it shows that the use of the Discovery Learning model
can improve the understanding of elementary school students' mathematical
concepts. It is shown that the creation of a learning process that is fun, active and
does not make students bored in learning activities. Discovery Learning model
activities where the learning process is not centered on the teacher alone, but
students are required to be active by finding and investigating themselves in the
form of concepts and principles through experimental activities with the guidance
of a teacher, so that the understanding gained will last longer in his memory.
